Social Media Post (Page & Group) Exporter

This policy explains what data the extension handles, where that data is stored, and how users stay in control of their exported content.

Effective date: August 2, 2026 Applies to: Social Media Post (Page & Group) Exporter browser extension

Short Version

The extension runs in the user's browser and stores collected post data locally on the user's device. It does not sell personal data, use advertising trackers, collect account passwords, or send collected content to our servers.

Data the Extension Handles

When a user starts a collection session on a supported page or group feed, the extension may process content that is visible to that user's signed-in browser session.

  • Collected post data: post text, author names shown on the page, timestamps, reactions, comments, shares, links, image URLs, video URLs, and related post metadata.
  • User settings: collection limits, scroll delay, comment settings, continuation preferences, local asset download preference, and saved progress.
  • License data: if the user activates a Pro license, the extension stores the license key, license instance identifier, cached license status, and a generated installation identifier.

Local Storage and Exports

Collected content is stored in browser extension storage on the user's device so the user can preview, continue, export, or clear their data. Larger collection sessions may require extended local storage capacity.

Users can export collected data as JSON or CSV. If the user enables local asset downloads, the extension may save captured image or direct video asset URLs to the user's downloads folder.

Network Activity

The extension does not transmit collected post content to our servers. The only external service used by the extension is the license and subscription provider for Pro activation, validation, deactivation, and subscription management.

During license checks, the extension may send the entered license key and generated installation identifier to the licensing service to confirm access. License validation may run periodically so the extension can keep Pro features available to eligible users.

Extension Permissions

  • activeTab: reads the active supported tab only after the user starts the extension workflow.
  • scripting: injects the collector into a supported tab when the user starts a collection session.
  • storage and unlimitedStorage: saves settings, collected posts, license status, and collection progress locally in the browser.
  • downloads: saves user-requested JSON, CSV, and optional local media asset downloads.
  • alarms: periodically validates Pro license status.
  • host access: limits extension activity to supported website domains and the licensing service declared by the extension.

What We Do Not Collect

  • We do not collect account passwords.
  • We do not request or collect browsing history, bookmarks, cookies, or private messages.
  • We do not sell, rent, or share user data for advertising.
  • We do not use analytics or advertising trackers inside the extension.
  • We do not receive the user's exported JSON, CSV, or downloaded asset files.

Limited Use Commitment

User data handled by the extension is used only to provide the extension's single purpose: helping users collect, preview, save, and export post data from supported pages and groups. We do not use user data for unrelated products, advertising, profiling, or interest-based marketing.

We do not allow humans to read collected post data unless a user intentionally shares specific information with us for support, legal, or security reasons.

User Control and Deletion

Users can remove collected data by clicking the extension's Clear Data button, deleting exported files from their device, clearing extension storage in the browser, or uninstalling the extension.

A stored Pro license can be deactivated from the extension. Some subscription and payment records may be retained by the licensing or payment provider according to its own legal and billing requirements.

Responsible Use

Users are responsible for using the extension only on content they are permitted to access and for complying with applicable laws, data-protection rules, and the terms of the websites they use.

We may update this policy when the extension's features, permissions, or data practices change. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are made.

For privacy questions or deletion requests related to support communications, contact us through the support contact listed on the extension's store page.
